Reflection

This module has been a roller-coaster of an experience! Never in my life have I ever found myself looking forward to a class, as much as this one. The absolutely chill, growth-centred, collaborative atmosphere creates an incredible learning experience, that I'm sure anyone who has taken this class would agree on. I appreciate Dr. Charles being real in a non-sugarcoating way. No toxic positivity here, just realness!

This module has erased my misconception about design principles being a restrictive hindrance to the creative process. It is anything but! It's encouraged me to think deeper about what I want to convey, instead of mindlessly making things that 'look nice'. I've developed a better appreciation for other people's works and it's helped me to become more thoughtful and analytical about them. It's also helped me slow down to make meaning from my observations.

Design principles are meant to help you create a bridge between you and your audience. They're a guide to effectively express and communicate what you want, the way you intend to. I understand this better now!

I really enjoyed the creative freedom and space to experiment in this module. It was exciting to see everyone's work, and I have learned a lot from them as well. I'm lucky to have had such lovely classmates. We are all very encouraging and supportive of one another, which is something that I really value in a learning environment.

And ofcourse, Dr. Charles is truly a wonderful personality and his teaching is exemplary. I am so grateful to have had him for my first semester. He's set the bar immensely high for modern teaching in my opinion ahah!

Though I am a bit sad that the semester has come to an end so fast, I'm excited to carry forward what I have learned from Design Principles, especially seeing how fundamental of a role they will play in everything that comes next.
