ARTIST'S STATEMENT
FOR TIMELESS OUTLOOK
This piece reflects an
aspect of my perspective
towards life. I believe
that there is an endless
treasure trove of ideas
just waiting to be
explored explored out
there. Fostering a sense
of wonder and making
meaning from your
observations are what I
feel to be the driving
forces behind art. We need
not put a lid on the scope
of our imagination just
because our childhood days
have passed. Let's embrace
the whimsical, and the
magic that life has to
offer, with an open heart
and a curious mind!
Reflection
EXPERIENCE
This semester in general has been a bit of a messy and overwhelming
whirlwind! However I am very grateful that Mr.Martin made navigating
Photoshop easy to learn. Though collage design and photo manipulation
are not exactly my strengths, I am very excited about using what I have
learned in the future to explore my creativity. It feels like a new door
has been opened (to the world of imaging and photography), and I am
excited to improve my skill with this medium.
OBSERVATION
I sometimes found myself getting a bit bummed from not being able to
think up of creative ideas. I simultaneously felt inspired by everything
I've seen online and admired it, while also feeling disappointed by my art
block. At the same time, I found that the best ideas came to me out of the
blue, when I wasn't forcefully trying to conjure up one.
FINDINGS
By the end of the module, I realised that I forgot to enjoy the process
and to be free. I also found myself forcing to think of ideas outside of
the box, but that didn't turn out so well. I found that my mind works
best when I naturally let it wonder while I'm going about my day, or
going to new places. Due to circumstances though, I was mostly confined
in my room which was actually counterproductive ahah! I am definitely going to practice over the break in my own time though
during the break.
