Experience
This module in all honesty was a major roadblock for me due to its
challenges. I would say that it is the boss battle module in the BDCM
program, but a necessary one that all design students have to undergo.
I'm glad to have come out on the other side in somewhat one piece,
although I do worry the amount of energy drinks, lack of sleep, and
caffeine necessitates a medical checkup. Overall though, this module was
a major means of character-development for me especially since I've
struggled with it 4 times. Of course I never could've done it without the support and accommodations made by my tutors, so I am very grateful. I am really glad that it's over, and feel free because now I can finally do my laundry and clean my room and get my life back in order :')
Observation
I found that getting started on the tasks from this module was quite hard because of the pressure of a blank page and shame of making mistakes. But once I got started, it became easier for me to overcome internal pressures and make improvements to my writing. Though the critical review was the hardest, breaking everything down into chunks and sub-chunks (is that a word) helped me to get my ideas on page. Once you get the hang of things and an idea of how to structure things, it felt easier to fill in the blanks and get something done. The research analysis honestly was the greatest part as it was fascinating to find overall trends in participant responses.
Findings
This was definitely an experience, though incredibly painstaking I found it to be quite rewarding as I've learned several things. I would say that research is definitely not for me. However the topic of body diversity in animation and the broader implications of limited diversity was incredibly fascinating to delve into. This was a overall a meaningful and fruitful journey.
